Is Summer just flying by, or what?! We held the Scrapbook
Auction this past weekend, and it was fun! We gave away over
300 lots at this auction-style giveaway, and nobody left
empty-handed. A great deal of work goes into this
event (especially at the trade shows - we work hard to get extra
goodies), and we're so happy that many of you were able to join
us! Some great news... Lance, the owner of Rusty Pickle, will
be visiting us again on Thurs 9/4! He'll be teaching a couple
classes you won't want to miss! Also, I know a lot of you have
been asking when the next Yard Sale will be... you don't have to
wait much longer! See below for details.

Labor Day
Hours
I really can't believe I'm already thinking
about Labor Day hours, but the store will
be open! We will be here from 10am-2pm on
Mon 9/1.

In-Store Events
Giving Back
On Thurs 8/28, we're offering an All Ages Crop
from 10a-6p. $7 includes lunch and a 10%
discount. One last chance to chill out and do a little
cropping before it's time to head back to school!
We're gearing up for the Fall Scrapbook
Leagues, which begin the week of 9/8. There are
still spots available on all of the leagues, but Saturdays are
starting to fill up. Payment is due by Sun 8/24 to reserve
your spot.
 We will also be holding
our annual Scrap Pink
events over the weekend of 9/26-28, with our
Scrap Pink Crop on 9/27 from 10a-10p (yes, an extra
hour) for $25. Your crop fee includes dinner, prizes and a $10
donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation! Reservations are
recommended.
It's official - we've scheduled the next Scrapbook Yard Sale
for Sun 10/5 from 12-5pm. We've outgrown the crop
room a bit for this event and have made a couple changes.
Sellers will now pay a $3 registration fee to cover the cost of
space/table rental, as we've decided to use a larger area for
the sale. But no worries - we'll deduct the $3 from your store
credit, so you only pay if you sell more than that. This also
means we can accommodate more sellers (comfortably). Those who
are interested in selling should contact the store to sign up.
You'll receive a code to use on all of your price labels and
further instructions.

101and Cricut
102 classes are still a
hit! Cricut 102 is on Mon 8/25, and the next 101
will be on Tues 9/16; both are at 6pm. Space is
limited, so sign up soon!
 Hailey is
offering another Fragments Mirror Class on Thurs 8/21 at 6pm. Create an adorable
work of art to give as a gift or adorn your own
home.
Important News!!!  Lance, the owner of
Rusty Pickle, is planning on returning on
Thurs 9/4 to teach classes at Scrappy Chic! We're
working on details, but if you're a fan of RP, mark your calendar
and take the afternoon off! These classes allow you to create
beautiful projects, and are taught by Mr. Pickle
himself! Keep an eye on our blog and calendar for
more details soon!
Attention Cricut Owners! We are planning a
Cricut Design Studio
Class for Sat 9/13 at 2:30pm. We're still
working out a couple details, but you may want to keep your
afternoon clear!

 Mister
Beautiful
Many of us like to dress up our chipboard these days. But
paint can only get you so far. There are some pretty cool
products out there, including crackle paint, stickles, and
more. But have you tried adding some Tattered Angels
Glimmer Mist to your chipboard pieces? One of our
customers made a beautiful pumpkin simply using Terra Cotta and
Olive Glimmer Mist (on display in the store). You can
even spritz the glimmer mist over paint; it dries quickly and has an
amazing iridescent sheen to it. The spray mists on gently when
you hold it at a distance, and gives a fun, random look when you use
it a bit closer. The colors are amazing, but the metallics are
even cooler! I like to combine them for a deep, rich
effect. Keep an eye out for Erin's next technique class using
Glimmer Mist and

New roduct Update

Madness!
Ok, here's the rundown. New paper
from Glitz arrived (3 different lines).
We got the new Cuttlebug dies and  embossing folders (and
when they were gone, we got some more). We also received some
new lines (and awesome Thickers) from  American
Crafts! Another new company for us is
Graphic 45, with awesome vintage papers, which are
moving fast. Stamping Station sent us the new
custom school and travel papers we ordered - nice! There are
 now Hannah
Montana and HS Musical acrylic stamps
(hint: they make  great gifts for the
younger scrappers at only $9.99/set!). Of course, we can't
forget the new  Basic
Grey! There are 3 amazing lines so far (the
rest will be here in the Fall). The new
Reminisce  lines are here,
including Frosted, Enchanted  Autumn and
Scare Tactics (Halloween). We also received some new  papers from
Bo Bunny - Believe (beautiful Holiday paper),
Spooktastic (great funky Halloween), and a couple of the new  Beau Jardin
papers (more to arrive soon).
