At Anita Goodesign we love thinking outside of the Quilt Block! That is why we have created these fun, free motion design blocks that you can turn into decorative pot holders. This project is simple and easy in just a few steps. These designs were created using the Mix and Match quilting technique. This allows us to use the blocks on more than just making pot holders! The blocks are congruent to the same size blocks we use for our quilts. Which means, you can use these designs with any of our other Mix and Match Quilting collections.
All of the design elements for these blocks vary from one to the next. The only thing that stays the same is the thickness of ply for the stitches. Each design has a 3-ply, 7-ply and 11-ply that make a shadow effect for the block. These designs also use our free-motion style embroidery for the blocks. Using the same design, make multiple copies and mirror a few of them. The start and end points will match up perfectly allowing you to create quilts with unique design features.
